Taqbur or riya'

SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILADHA
(EID'UL ADHA TO ALL)

Today's main content for Eid sermon: TAQBUR or RIYA'

There were a lot of reminders that were conveyed during the sermon. Among the contents that I could remember was, there were 7 factors or situations that could make oneself become riya' or taqbur:
  1. When he thinks/feels that he has a higher knowledge than other people
  2. When he thinks/feels that he comes from a 'good' ancestry e.g royal family, syed/syarifah etc
  3. When he thinks/feels that he has better looks than the others
  4. When he thinks/feels that he is better in terms of the ibadah that he has done
  5. When he thinks/feels that he is richer than the other people
  6. When he holds high position in the company or community
  7. When he has the physical power and strength
If we by any chance belongs to one of these kind of people, it is good to always lay low and remain humble. Just a reminder for us to ponder and reflect upon.

Gua Tempurung caving + Bukit Merah

Presentation for research updates has been done. So can curi-curi update blog pule..hehe..

Wanna share with you the experience of Gua Tempurung caving that me and the friends went a fortnight ago.

So...

We started the journey at 5.30 in the morning while most of other people were still in deep sleep. Stop by at Selayang to fetch a friend and Subuh first and by 9.00, we were ready to rumble. ;)
Just a quick direction for those who wishes to go: from the North-South Expressway, take Gopeng exit and after the toll exit, you'll see the signboards showing directions to Gua Tempurung. Just follow the signs and you'll be there. ;)

There were four tour packages that you can take at Gua Tempurung cave but we took the longest tour of all: The Grand Tour. Well, this was my first experience doing such activities and I supposed it was worth it after all. Both thumbs up!

Well, let some of these pictures do the talking.
Near the entrance of the cave
This picture didn't do justice to real situation.
The white spots were actually seen as shimmering,
glistening spots like what you see on a rock,
full with diamonds yet to processed.
This was nearing the "pit stop". Hehe...
Shoes were already drained with water.
2 pictures above: Typical features of a cave
Camwhoring after all the "hardships"! ;P

Next destination: Taiping.
Taiping is famous for its yong tau fu and we did not missed the chance to grab one. Cheap and heaven!

Even the ais kacang was cheap! Look at the prices. Geezz..kan best if KL has such cheap foods everywhere...

Later the evening, we hoped to lepak-lepak and snap-snap at that much-publicised Taman Tasik Taiping but since it was near dark at the time, we just went sightseeing around Taiping.

Day 2: Bukit Merah
Before we departed for KL, we went for the Orang Utan Island. Well, that was the initial plan. When we reached there, the prices was not worth it for just a 1/2 hour package, so we topped it up with another two packages that include the Ecopark and Chairlift - Eco Combo Package.
Information on the prices could be found here: Bukit Merah.

To get to the island, you would have to ride a boat.

Well, it wasn't that far though but the scene of mother nature was superb! MashaAllah.

So, here are some pictures of the Orang Utan Island.

So after the Orang Utan Island, Eco Park was the next destination. Well, it's actually something like a zoo but slightly smaller. And what do you expect to see none other than just animals? Hehe...It was clear, hot and sunny at the time, so if ambik gambar, sangatla cantik effect die!

After grabbing an ice-cream each, we ride the sky chair pulak. Since the cable for this chair were passing the water theme park, the view and pictures were of course overlooking it. ;)

And so, that's a little bit here and there how the activities went. And this last picture showed the whole team that went for this mini adventure. Heh. We would be arranging activities lagi. If siapa-siapa berminat nak join, feel free to let me know. [Macam pesanan penaja pule. Ceh. ;P ]

Till next update. Salam.

Dira's baby...

Congratulations DIRA + husband on the birth of Nur Adriana Sofea!!! (Sorry Dira, mind the spelling...)

The cute teeny-weeny, little angel was born on the 17th October 2010 normally at 2309hrs.

Me and ms Anis went to visit her yesterday night at the hospital but sorry, no pictures. We were too shy to take the baby's picture because Dira's in-laws were there as well. So, a bit shy and segan. Hehe...

It was quite scary to hold the 23-hours-born baby but had the courage finally to hold her. Trust me, it was so serene to look at the baby! Well, which baby doesn't? They are just too pure, impeccable, authentic and squeakily-clean! Oh, how blissful!

I couldn't imagine how those ungrateful mothers, have the hearts to simply discard their own child! Have they not go through hardship of 40-weeks pregnancy? Have they not grow fond of the baby whilst they are in their womb? Have they not feel the heartbeats and cheekiness of the baby throughout his/her growth? Oh, how sad and pathetic these people could be! Afterall, have they lost their minds or what??? Sheeshhh...

For now, there isn't much news on abandoned babies. We'll see in the upcoming months of May or August later. Will the trend continue? We'll wait and see.

Videography service...

Oh my god oh my god oh my god!!!

I came across this one wedding videography site - Manggis (http://manggis.tv/v2/) - which I think was superb. Their pieces of work were all just too eye-catching-melancholic-dramatic-yet-exciting videos for me to watch even the time now is 5.30am in the morning and I haven't had my sleep yet! What more can you expect apart from being sloppy and sleepy with eyes half-open, half-close at this moment of time? Heh...

From what I know through their site, the service price for videography starts from RM5k. Ini kena letak kaler merah sebab memang money-sucking!!! Huhu...

I'm not sure what's the market price for wedding videography. But I suppose most of them are quite costly though.

For now, I mean now, right at this present moment, I wish that my big day later would come with videography. Tapi...mahalnyeeeee...=(..

Mr fiance I know for sure wouldn't agree with me in the first place.

But...there's still plenty of times to pujuk2 him ait? Haha...*wink*

Coming back to my senses...Videography service though real interesting, it does sound membazir. Then how???

I haven't done much research yet on this area but anyway, if any of you people knows any good quality videographers out there, mind sharing it with me? Thanks a bunch...;D

Al-fatihah...

News about Malaysia's cosmetic millionaire and the three other individuals who went missing, has been revealed.  It was tragic to know that they were all killed and burnt. How inhumane people can be when it comes to money. People can easily be blinded by the luxury that money can bring in this world. If the killers are Muslims, have they not thought about the "luxury rewards" in the hereafter world? MashaAllah. May Datuk Sosilawati, the bodyguard/driver, the banker and the lawyer rest in peace. Al-fatihah...

August updates (though it's Sept now =P..)

There's a lot of updates to share!!! =D

First and foremost, I am officially off the 'market' now - I am ENGAGED! Hehe. I really really wish to scribble over here how sudden things happened and how rushing the preparation was + the merisik part prior to the engagement day. I would try to post a story on it later inshaAllah (despite how late it is).

Just a teaser on the engagement day...*wink*

Secondly, Ramadhan is coming to an end. How sad it is that this 'super mega sale' month is leaving us soon. The heavens doors are all open for our prayers and repentance. MashaAllah. But the question is, have we grabbed this biggest chance of the year? There are still a few days of Ramadhan left. I would like to 'invite' you and myself: Let us all grab the barakah and specialty of Ramadhan while we still can. Let us find the Lailatul-Qadr together inshaAllah.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all...
SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI
Maaf Zahir Batin
Forgive me for all my wrongdoings to whom I have made mistakes with, be it consciously or unconsciously
Let's forgive and forget our mistakes to each other.  Have a safe journey balik kampung ya!

Next update: Mr fiancé has now gone abroad to further his studies. Ouhhhh, that's sad. We're now back to our previous state - long distance relationship AGAIN! *sigh* But anyhow, I'm happy for him that he got the chance to further the studies. Not everybody is lucky enough to have the chance ait? You're so lucky dear! Wish you all the best over there k and we'll always pray for your success from here.

Till the next update. Salam.

Little brother...

Little brother is not so little anymore!

He's now in the university pursuing his studying. Ouhhh..takde dah geng i nak buli hari-hari..[Eh, it's the other way round. He bullies me a lot as compared to I bully him! Cet...]

Nowadays, our nights are becoming more sunyi than before. Especially at this time now - World Cup! He would be the only one who is willing to wake up in the wee hours of the night to watch the football. Sometimes, daddy would join and hardly the big brother would join ["Lebih baik aku tido daripada nak bangun tengah malam tengok bola", he would say. Haha. Btol jugak tu. =P ] But since little brother left last last Saturday, I haven't hear any "lalat or lebah" sound of the match in the middle of the night. [It's called the vuvuzela right? I just learnt that word. Hehe...] Maybe daddy's too tired to watch..or..maybe he don't have the companion..or..maybe it's not a match that's worth watching..or..yada yada..I don't know. Hehe.

The parents seem to look cool but I know deep down they miss their 'little' boy. Mummy always ask me and sister "Tak call adik ke?". Daddy also. Me and sis texted him quite frequently but now that he's having his orientation week, so it's quite hard to get to talk long with daddy and mummy. In fact, dah 2 hari kot diorang tak cakap dengan little brother. Baru 2 hari je! Haha...

Anyhow...he has to be independent sooner or later ait? And the time has come now. He has been staying with the parents for the past 18 years. Tak pernah duduk asrama pon. Unlike me which at the age of 16 was already in asrama hundreds miles away from the family. Jauh kan? Hehe. He has to learn how to manage things on his own, has to manage his time wisely, has to choose the right friends, has to adapt to the new environment, has to even basuh, lipat and iron baju sendiri! Haha. Good for him though. ;)

Gambar curi little brother masuk 'skolah'. Hehe...

Spring cleaning little brother's 'new' room...

Anyway, that story was last week's. Yesterday, we just sent him back to his univ. He was home the past weekend. Parents were so excited though baru seminggu tak jumpa. [Well, I got excited as well. Hihi...]. Weekend went normal for us, but a bit abnormal for me in a good way though. ;)

Today, his classes has started. So...

To dearest 'little' brother: I wish you the very best of luck in your studies. Make sure that you study well and achieve excellent results with REAL flying colours k! Love you...;)

Camera oh camera...

Subject: My Nikon is now officially masuk bengkel!!!

Reason: The camera continuously displays "Err" message when I try to fire any shots.

Price (for repairing): Yet to be quoted. [Hope it's not that expensive. Sigh~]

Preliminary Diagnosis: Was told by Nikon's customer service staff that it might be due to the aperture or the shutter. Might have to change one of the item, or both in a worse condition. [Double sigh~]

Message: Hope that it could be fixed. InshaAllah amin...

Time flies...

Time flies so fast!!! We're now already past the middle of June. It seems like yesterday that we celebrated New Year kan

Anyway, I don't have any critical issues to discuss pon in this entry. Saje je ngade-ngade nak menulis. Hehe..

Talking about time...I'll definitely feel that time will fly REAL fast till August. Why August?

First and foremost, we are celebrating Ramadhan. Ahlan wasahlan ya Ramadhan

Secondly, inshaAllah somebody's leaving on a jet plane! Ouh...sad sad sad...

There are too many things to do yet there is only little time to accomplish all. I wish I could be a superwoman who can achieve everything I want within the time frame. Too bad I'm still not there yet. But if there's a will, there's surely a way right? If Allah has destined that your rezeki is there, then it will be there. You don't need to worry - just put your trust in Allah, inshaAllah you'll feel more at ease.

[Thanks to Mr S who always remind me on that. Alhamdulillah...Thank you, love!]

The damn Israel...

My heart is full of hatred upon learning the news about the Mavi Marmara attack! Seriously feels disgusted of the Israelis actions. MasyaAllah...

Hot news for the past few days revolves around the humanitarian aid towards the Palestinians.

A list was found on the ship that contained the information on which ship to attack and the name of the people whom they planned to kill - further details am not sure. The story was real shock for me! It was all planned! It wasn't because of the Israel commandos were attacked, it wasn't because the civilians were armed, it wasn't because the ship brings threat to them. All of the reasons were all lies by them - lies, lies, lies and full of lies!

Were you aware that previously Iran-Turki-Brazil have sign contracts regarding the nuclear technology transfer? Why is it that the Turkish ship was (the first to be) attacked? It feels a bit cocky to learn that the civilians that were killed, have actually something to do with 'Turki' - be it by name or by the citizenship itself or by any other logical reason.

Ouh, I can't write further. Am just too disgusted to write more about these damn Israelis.

"Oh Allah. Please protect our dearest brothers and sisters in Palestine and those who have good deeds for helping those people, oh Allah. Ameen..."

An increase in age = a decrease in steps towards death

It was my birthday two weeks ago.  Happy birthday to me! =D
I received quite a number of birthday dedications through my facebook walls. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Very much thank you to all.

It was a very good and happy day for me.

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate”
– Oprah Winfrey

Nevertheless, there was this corner of my heart saying that ‘an increase in age means a decrease in steps towards death’.

Dah bersedia ke aku untuk mati?”

Cukup dah ke iman and amal semua?

And the questions kept revolving around the mind.

I came across to this one site about death and the posting was real interesting! Spend some time to read through it. Just to quote you one of the interesting parts in the posting:
Remembering death daily can and does transform the whole life of a believer to the better. Death awareness helps the believer to set his/her priorities right.”
– Sherif Abdel Azeem Mohamed

Yeah, it is indeed.

Surveillance?

Ok, it has been 3 months I know...huhu..=P

Have you ever thought that your life actually are being monitored? (Of course Allah always watches every inches of your movement). Other than that, your parents (definitely!), your relatives, your friends, your company and in the bigger picture, your government?

Have you ever thought that the information about your personal life is no more confidential?

Hmm..it seems like a big question eh?

The idea of being 'watched' sparked-out when I was being asked to fill up formS (note the capital S) on the assets that I own, including my savings. I have nothing against it YET cause I have nothing to declare. As a matter of fact, I don't have any assets! Poor me eh?

But what if I have some amount of money which I think it's private to disclose to anyone anonymous? Don't you think that it's a bridge of privacy? The bankers who works on my account definitely would know about it but to let anybody else know, I don't think so.

All the information about oneself is available everywhere - bits and pieces here and there: your company, banks, hospitals/clinics, insurance companies, local council, telephone companies bla bla bla..the list goes on. Like it or not, we have to disclose certain information about ourselves in order for us to gain whatever benefits we may get.

There are many other forms of surveillance that I supposed we are not aware of. What I've stated over here, might just be a tiny part of this whole surveillance thing. There ought to be a bigger surveillance scheme present out there.

When you sit and think thoroughly about it, you'll finally realise that you don't actually have the privacy about your life. What we do, what we watch, what we gain, where we go - everything are all being monitored!

WE are being watched!
