So yes, how and where should I start?
Okey.
Things happened real fast and unexpectedly F A S T ! This whole engagement thing started when Mr. S - which is now the "Mr Fiance" - and his parents bought the ring somewhere in early May (if I could remember well) but didn't have the exact plan when to come to my house for merisik or even for bertunang. Then, during the last week in May while I was having a 2-weeks course, Mr Fiance called up and gave me one gooood news - his scholar application was approved! Alhamdulillah...I was so happy for him.
Things went silent and normal not until the middle of June, whereby the parents invited me to their home for a get-to-know-me session. And...the whole scene were set into motion a few weeks after that particular day. They came for merisik, yadayada...and time were set 3 weeks after that! YES, I did typed it right! It was only 3 WEEKS that the preparation was done for the whole thing! How chaos does that sound? Hectic!
And to top it up, my grandmother passed away FOUR DAYS before the event. I remembered it was Tuesday evening when my mother received the call. She was at the time preparing for the hantaran. Luckily, that day I had taken the whole week off to prepare for the e-day. Learning about the news, there was a corner deep inside my heart saying that this whole engagement thing would have to be POSTPONED. I was being real pessimist at the time, I know. Double the sadness!
Anyway, late maktok looked real calm when we arrived at kampung. Alhamdulillah...Many came to visit her prior to her burial. May late maktok rest in peace and be placed among the believers. Ameen...
Back to the engagement story...
The whole event did not happened as to what I have imagined. As a matter of fact, it went wayyyy superb! Alhamdulillah...I felt so blessed that things went out so smoothly despite the last-minute chaos. Everything turned out just so well that when I thought about it, I feel like crying. Seriously! From the dress, to the hantarans, to the caterer, to the makeup - everything fit nicely into place. Alhamdulillah alhamdulillah alhamdulillah...Praise be only to Allah! I couldn't thank Him enough for this whole thing.
To cut the story short, let me just sum up how the whole preparations were done.
Engagement dress
Bought the dress materials and ready-made veil at Jakel and I got a very special price for the whole thing. Alhamdulillah...It was just a week and a half before the e-day and I knew that it was hard to get any tailors to complete my dress within a week. Me and my parents don't have any idea where to sent the materials but alhamdulillah again, the Jakel staffs recommended us this one tailor, Shaizan Collection, located at Medan Mara. Yes, they accepted my order and I managed to take the dress two days before the event. I just realised I takade gambar dress itu alone without me in it! Huhu...So for the sake of sharing, here's the picture of me wearing the dress. *shy* it was just a typical baju kurung moden. nothing fancy. purposely blurred the face cause the highlight is just the dress. ;P

Caterer
This was all dad's work! Thank you, ayah! I love you! D'Tandoor's staffs did great job for the day. Thank you Uncle Malik and D'Tandoor! The table settings, the mini stalls and of course, the foods! All were praising for the good foods. Alhamdulillah. As for me, I mestilah tak sempat nak menikmati all the foods tapi takpe, so long as the guests enjoyed the food, t'was good enough for me. =) i really liked the setting!

Hantarans
This was all mum's work! Thank you, mama! Mum did all the hantarans and I did nothing on this part. Let her expressed her creativeness and I dared not touch anything. Well, I've offered my help but she refused. She said that I might just ruined the whole thing. Hehe...So blame me not for not helping her. I've tried at least. ;P She had not had enough sleep for days just to finish up doing all the hantarans. Oh, thank you again mama! I love you!

Mini pelamin
There wasn't any pelamin at all I shall say. Just a small podium to place a chair and some decorations on both sides of the mini podium. This was the last thing that we all did - just the morning before the event! Nothing fancy. Kehkeh...So last minute!!! Thank you to the uncles and aunties for the decorations!
